General Information
Welcome to the official website of Sims Legal Services, P.C. (“SLS”). SLS maintains a physical mailing address at 1160 Battery St., Suite 100, San Francisco, CA 94111. The attorney responsible for the content on this website, Trey Sims (CA State Bar No. #327959), is admitted to practice law in California. SLS may also handle cases in other jurisdictions with the local court’s permission (pro hac vice) with the assistance of local counsel as required by such jurisdictions’ laws and ethical rules.
This site is for general information purposes only, and is not intended to provide any legal advice. Every case is different, and any decision you make about your legal rights should be based solely on consultation with an attorney whom you have hired to represent you. This website links to certain articles; however, SLS does not monitor those articles for currentness, and does not warrant that they are accurate or up to date.
No Attorney-Client Relationship
Legal claims are generally subject to time-limits (statutes of limitations), and failure to assert a claim within the applicable time-limit may result in the claim being lost forever. Merely visiting this website or submitting an email to SLS does not make you a client of SLS, and does not obligate SLS to take any action on your behalf, including with respect to protecting your rights under any statute of limitation.
If you have a potential claim, it is essential that you voluntarily and independently speak with and retain an attorney in order to be certain that you are protecting your legal rights. SLS does not represent clients unless and until SLS and the client have entered into a written representation agreement signed by both parties. Although SLS makes an effort to respond promptly to each inquiry it receives, SLS does not guarantee that it will respond to each inquiry it receives. If you have not received a prompt response to an inquiry, you should immediately contact SLS by telephone to follow up, or immediately contact another attorney to represent you.
AI-Powered Tools & Interactive Features
This website includes AI-powered tools, including but not limited to a legal term explainer, severance negotiation analyzer, and other interactive legal resources (collectively, “AI Tools”). These AI Tools are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice, do not create an attorney-client relationship, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a qualified attorney.
AI Tools may produce responses that are incomplete, inaccurate, or inapplicable to your specific situation. SLS makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any output generated by AI Tools. You should not take or refrain from taking any legal action based solely on information provided by AI Tools. Always consult with a licensed attorney for advice tailored to your individual circumstances.
SLS may publish open-source legal tools, templates, and educational resources. These materials are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind and are intended for general educational use. Use of any SLS-published tool or resource does not establish an attorney-client relationship.
Attorney Advertising
This website may be considered attorney advertising under some states’ laws and attorney ethics rules. This site complies with the ethical rules for attorney advertising in California, as well as the American Bar Association’s Model Rules. SLS cannot prevent individuals from accessing this site based on their geographic location, and does not intend this site to serve as an advertisement or offer of availability for employment to anyone in a state in which this site fails to comply with all laws and ethical rules of that state.
This site discusses legal work that Mr. Sims has performed in the past in order to provide general information about his background. Every case is different, and outcomes from prior engagements do not guarantee or predict any particular outcome in any future case.
Fee Arrangements
SLS sometimes represents clients on a contingency basis, meaning that, as set forth in SLS’s representation agreements, such clients do not owe attorneys’ fees to SLS unless the case results in the recovery of money. However, if a case results in a judgment against a client of SLS, the client may be ordered by the court to pay court costs incurred in the case.
